Manufacturer Description |
The 3BR Powersports Garmin USB Tapp Capp to miniUSB 12 inch long power cable is built with special circuitry inside to allow Garmin GPS, such as the Nuvi, to operate while charging. These cables have the same function as the Garmin power cable that has the cigarette plug at one end. Cables are USB Type A with TAPP CAPP to USB Type B Mini Right Angle Up and are available in 9, 12 and 18 inches.
Important Notes:
- This is a power cable only. It will not transfer data on your Garmin GPS due to special internal wiring that keep the unit working while charging.
- The USB Type A end is covered with a TAPP CAPP. This is a weather-proof cap that only allows the USB end to connect to a 3BR Powersports TAPP Lite USB Power Port.

TAPP CAPP and Panel CAPP Details:
TAPP CAPP and Panel CAPP are 3BR Powersports patented seal caps that provide weatherproof protection to any USB cable when plugged into a TAPP Lite (TAPP CAPP) or Panel TAPP (Panel CAPP) USB power port. TAPP CAPP and Panel CAPP are resistant to dust, water splash, spray and even heavy water washdown.
TAPP CAPP and Panel CAPP are molded from the same rugged Brulloy rubber that is used on our Baryl power jacks and plugs. Brulloy is a true MP rubber, not a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) such as polyurethane. Whereas TPEs must be specially treated to resist environmental damage, Brulloy is inherently resistant to ozone, UV, grease, and oil. It can withstand service temperatures from -130° to 225°F (-90° to 107°C)!
Note: Due to the protective skirt that surrounds the USB plug, TAPP CAPPed cables cannot be plugged into standard USB ports such as those on PCs and other power ports.
Panel CAPPed cables can be plugged into standard USB ports.
