Garmin has just announced the launch a new line of OEM products. The GPS15x replaces the GPS15 OEM series. These updated OEM GPS sensors are smaller, faster, and updateable, to name a few improvements. They are perfect for integration into car navigation, wireless communication, asset tracking and other systems.

Privacy regulators in Switzerland are asking for modifications to their area, on the the popular new Google map add-on, Streetview. The Swiss have been known to be more sensitive about thier privacy than other countries, and have set some of the highest standards in the world.

Street View allows users to see the landscape around a point on a map at ground level. Users around the world have been skeptical about this new service from Google, citing reasons like; peering into living areas and showing the location of someone who may wish to remain anonymous.

However, as of late there have been some questions raised on just how reliable this technology may be. Garmin Aera 550 is a new generation of portable navigation. The consumer can select from three different models: the Americas (North and South), Pacific (Asia) or Atlantic (Europe) regions. These units will then have the aviation information for that region preloaded.The automotive data loaded will cover portions of each designated area; for instance the Americas will include Canada and the US, but no South American street mapping.

Garmin has just announced the latest in their line of running watches, better known as the Forerunner series. The newest addition, the ForeRunner 60, is similar to the Forerunner 405, but without a built-in GPS. The unit will collect all the same sport data, just without a position tied to it. Because it has no built in GPS, the FR 60 is smaller and has a sexier design when compared to the GPS enabled Forerunners.

TomTom has recently announced a product that they are gearing towards first-time GPS users. They've dubbed this unit the TomTom Start, but it seems to contain many of the same features and menu options as their One series. The only feature that has been removed is the Advanced Lane Guidance, which is an extremely beneficial tool when traveling in new or unfamiliar areas.
