GPS technology has already helped conserve fuel, by keeping users from driving in circles, looking for an address.The addition of ecoRoute to many of Garmin's new GPS series is going to save drivers time, money as well as the environment. All of Garmin's vehicle navigators come equipped with route preferences, such as the choice between Faster Time or Shortest Distance. The new ecoRoute adds one more choice to the route preference, Less Fuel. Taking into consideration the speed limits, as some speeds are more fuel efficient is one way to reduce fuel consumption. This feature is also great for tracking mileage, for business or pleasure. ecoRoute is designed to provide both a Fuel Report and a Mileage Report, which will graph usage on a per-trip basis. The Nuvi's can also be customized by entering the car’s fuel economy and the current price of gas.
