TomTom announces their XXL series, including a large 5” screen, as well as the newest driving features, available from TomTom. The TomTom XXL 530S and 540S were designed in response to customer feedback and demand.
One of the features adding optimization is IQ Routes, which takes data collected over time and converts it into route driving data. This feature will create the fastest, and most efficient route available, saving the user travel time, fuel consumption and frustration.
Jocelyn Vigreux, president of TomTom Inc. promotes this new line by saying “The new TomTom XXL devices enrich our product portfolio by providing our customers with new offerings that cater to individual preference and need, like the larger, easy-to-read screen".
TomTom has loaded these new XXL series with full US and Canadian map coverage, thus competing with other manufacturers for the vast Canadian consumer base. The Map Share technology allows users to modify; street names and directions, points of interest and more, on the GPS itself.
The TomTom XXL 540S has a few unique features to distance it from the 530S. Advanced Lane Guidance, where available, warns drivers of upcoming interchanges and ensures the user is in the correct lane for merging onto the exit of choice. The extensive preloaded maps will also include Mexico, making it the first true “North American” TomTom GPS.
