 GPS Navigation devices come preloaded with millions of Points of Interest. What is a Point of Interest? In short terms it is a physical geographic point that you may want to visit or learn more about. They include lodging, restaurants, retail stores, school zones and many other types. The navigation device may not have every point of interest may be interested in. Thats alright because hundreds of websites have popped up offering GPS users, collections of POI's missing in the GPS devices. They offer all the locations of your favorite coffee shops or a list of speed traps in your area. Most of these points are created by other GPS users and are posted on these sites as a free download.
