The Open Street Map (OSM) website is an Open Source project providing free maps to anyone who visits them online. The maps you find on this site are made by GPS users, for other GPS users without an outrageous licensing cost. If you notice an error you can go in and fix it yourself so others can enjoy the change. Some areas of these maps can even be loaded onto a handheld GPS. Here is a link to the list of areas that are compatible with Garmin GPS units
