Many of the customs, associated with Hajj, have not changed throughout the years. 2009 marks a change, scouts this year are adding something new to their trip. A GPS. "Saudi scouts will be equipped with GPS software to guide pilgrims
during the Haj" says Abdullah Al-Fahd, vice president of the Saudi
Arabian Scouts Society. “We will experiment with the system and hope it will simplify the
various tasks undertaken by scouts. The system will be studied and
applied extensively in coming years. We will also be cooperating with
the Presidency of Youth Affairs and other related departments in this
matter,” said Al-Fahd.
