Nokia users are loving the new Ovi maps application, as it shows from their download numbers. In the first week, one million downloads were recorded. As of Feb. 3, 2010, that number rose to over 1.4 million. One reason for the popularity is cost - free is a favorite amount for many. Nokia servers averaged one download per second, 24 hours per day, since the launch on Jan. 21, 2010. Due to its striking popularity, Nokia has announced that for the next month they will include the Ovi software pre-loaded on all their new GPS-enabled smartphones. Nokia has also added the bonus of access to Lonely Planet and Michelin travel guides at no extra charge. Ovi maps are extremely well covered, with more than 180 countries mapped, and 74 countries with full vehicle and pedestrian navigation, language options in 46 varieties, plus traffic and other FM services in 10+ countries.
