The Louvre. Big Ben. Stonehenge. What do all of these have in common? They are all huge tourist destinations, and finding them can be tricky! That is - unless you have access to a GPS system specifically designed for tourists traveling through Europe.
Garmin's choice of units includes preloaded varieties like the Nuvi 275T, Nuvi 775T, and Nuvi 1370T. Originating in Europe, TomTom has strong ties and excellent map coverage for the continent. Their Go 930 and Go 940 Live units are loaded up with North America and Europe maps, and include TomTom's signature IQ route technology. This offers access to other TomTom users data to enhance the routes already given by the GPS. The Go 940 Live also has a voice command and control feature to allow for additional hand-free operation when using the Bluetooth option.
If you currently own a North American Garmin or TomTom device that has an expandable memory slot, you can add the European maps via an SD/microSD card. The Garmin maps can be purchased at GPS City, or for US citizens only, head directly to www.garmin.com to download the maps. TomTom only offer their add-on maps via download, www.tomtom.com.
