Europe is a very popular vacation destination for North Americans, from the rich culture to the warm beach venues. Traveling these areas can be wonderful and relaxing - if you don't get lost that is. Street signs in foreign symbols, roadways that look like alleys, language barriers with the natives - these are just a few of the obstacles one could face when trying to navigate unfamiliar cities and towns.
Garmin has offered European mapping on CD/DVD/MicroSD cards for many years - covering most of Western and some Eastern Europe. Their nuvi vehicle line has always included a few units preloaded with both North America and Europe. These units are characterized by a 7 as the second digit in the title. The current multi-country model: the nuvi 1370T is a wide touch-screen unit that offers traffic updates, lane assistance and junction view where available, as well as the hands-free calling option via bluetooth. All of these features are wrapped up in a slim, user-friendly GPS unit.
Trips to Europe can be enhanced with some key accessories - like the CityXplorer downloads. These are detailed maps with tourist information for cities across Europe and North America, with a few others worldwide. CityXplorer also covers the public transit maps for each location, with navigation by bus, taxi, subway, metrorail or tramway. Points of interest include hotels, restaurants, fuel, shopping and much more. The map data on these downloads provides turn-by-turn spoken directions with turn restrictions, roundabout guidance and speed limits (on compatible devices).
Garmin and GPS City: helping keep your European adventures stress-free, with updated mapping and easy to use GPS guidance.
