Garmin's nuvi 295W is the first GPS unit to introduce Wi-Fi into it's feature list, following the popularity of the nuLink on the nuvi 1690, Garmin's Intelligent Navigator. Originally intended as another version of the nuvifone, the nuvi 295W has been stripped of any phone capability, but retains all the other functions it had. The Wi-Fi function allows users to check and send email - including Hotmail, Gmail, AOL, POP3 and IMAP - and view attachments in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and JPG formats. Google's Local Search provides access to searchable Points of Interest (POIs) with customer ratings and reviews. Equipped with a dual-orientation screen, the nuvi 295W can be viewed in portrait or landscape. Integrated contact information allows the user to navigate to an address simply by selecting the person from the contact list. Geotag photos with the 3 megapixel camera, then easily route to the destination or share the photos online with the entire geotagging community. The camera, built-in MP3 music player, 2.5mm headphone jack, and removable lithium-ion battery, and of course GPS, make this unit the perfect all-in-one device for traveling.
