Tis the season! Excitement is in the air, and for tech buffs it lasts well beyond the 25th of December. The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) takes place just after the New Year from Jan. 6-9 2011 in Las Vegas, NV. All that is fresh and new will be on display from electronics giants like LG and Nvidia, to smaller enterprises. Last year's show was all about 3D technology, so we are sure to see some improvements in that realm. Many presenters like Microsoft, Apple, Sony and Panasonic have had interactive displays in the past. Flashing lights, projectors, touchscreen tablets and so much more created lasting impressions with thousands of visitors. Many companies who hadn't showcased 3D technology last year will most certainly be launching some variation this time around. There are plenty of brands promoting their universal glasses to compliment the growing number of 3D TVs. The popularity of 3D Blu-ray is also expected to explode with the addition of so many 3D products.
A highly anticipated new product this year is the Panasonic Kuro HD TV series. The Kuro, previously a Pioneer product, is being revamped with contrast ratios of 5,000,000:1. Known for it's superior audio and visual performance, Kuro is a favorite among home theatre afficiandos. OLED is another favorite as traditional LED technology is deemed passe. Recurring presenters will include big names like LG and Sony, with many others expected to unveil their creations. With Christmas season in full swing, the time will certainly fly for vendors and patrons alike. Check back often for more GPS news and of course updates on CES in January. GPS City will be at the show and sharing our finds with everyone!
