Today's Friday Feature is from a GPS City Gallery posting back in 2009. Scott's story of mounting his car's GPS is a relatable one. Read below to find out how he resolved his issue.
Scott of Las Vegas was not satisfied with the windshield mount included with his purchase of the Garmin nuvi 765T. Instead of mounting the GPS on the windshield, he preferred to have his GPS mounted to his center console.
While looking for a mounting solution, Scott came across the RAM Mount Aluminum Garmin nuvi 7xx Series Screw Down Plate Mount on GPS City. The GPS City web site had all the information needed to make my decision, such as diagrams, measurement details, and great videos that demonstrate and explain the product very well. I found the videos also helped to give me a better idea of the overall physical appearance and characteristics of the RAM Mount."
Once the RAM Mount was in use, Scott found there was another benefit to the placement of his GPS and mount. "The location where I installed this setup worked out to have an additional advantage...I can rest my hand on the 4x4 shift knob, while my index finger has an easy reach to the Garmin unit's touch screen."
