Another Friday and another look back at a great Gallery submission from one of our customers! Today features Gerald from New Brunswick and his dog, Jack. Gerald and Jack enjoy hiking through the woods and backcountry, even if it is filled with snow.
Curious about Jack's adventures when out of sight, Gerald equipped his dog with an eTrex Legend HCx (the same GPS as Gerald), a safety vest and headed outside. The Garmin eTrex Legend HCx is a high-sensitivity receiver that can hold a GPS signal in tough environments like deep foliage or jungles. Lightweight and compact, this handheld offers a bright color screen with automatic routing for wherever your adventure takes you or in Gerald's case, wherever Jack takes you!
Back home, Gerald pulled up his dog's tracking and compared it to his own; he was surprised by the results. Gerald explains, "[During the] hike I covered about 13km’s and he went 31km’s and when I plotted it another surprise was there. He had disappeared for some time and I was having my tea he came back all out of breath. When I plotted the track along with mine it showed a 1.2km circle, I guess he found a rabbit. It is very entertaining to plot his actual tracks compared to mine."
