Garmin is widely known for their automotive and outdoor GPS units. Recently, however, a growing percentage of people have become devoted to Garmin's aviation equipment. This year has seen the arrival
of many new products within the Garmin aviation line including the Eurocopter and Helicopter panels. The G500H and G1000H models are geographically specific to Europe and North America, respectively, and have been garnering the most interest from pilots. Key
features on both models include seamlessly integrated control and
presentation of flight data plus sensor and instrument function. There is also the option of choosing between a single or dual solid-state altitude and heading reference system. With either choice, the system will align while in motion. The wire-count has been reduced on the G1000H, simplifying the installation process. Additionally, the overall weight is minimized and maintenance is easier than Garmin's previous models. With the increasing use of GPS in the aviation field, Garmin is becoming more dominant in the GPS world by strengthening their variety of products for land, sea and air. |
