The newest edition to Garmin's Forerunner series improves upon the popular 110 model. The Garmin Forerunner 210 features an easy-to-use button interface. It also has the ability to grab a satellite signal quickly using the HotFix GPS receiver. The Forerunner's ANT+ technology allows for full compatibility with wireless accessories including cadence/temperature sensors, heart rate monitors and weight scales for tracking BMI and body fat percentage. Also, a Garmin footpod can be used to measure speed, distance and cadence when running indoors or outdoors. Lastly, after syncing up with a Garmin heart rate monitor, the Firstbeat feature will compute calorie consumption based on heart rate. If interested, training data is available for download using the Garmin Connect software, which is free through Garmin's website. The software enables users to transfer recorded position, speed/pace, distance and calorie data to monitor progress.
