Last week, Trimble Outdoors announced their mobile app, AllSport GPS, for Google Android phones. Whether simply tracking your burned calories or building a custom training program, this mobile app is beneficial for both the outdoor enthusiast and the all-around athlete.
During a three month testing period, Trimble brought together athletes, avid users of the original app and random people to test the AllSport app in various capacities. In the end, 350 testers performed 1,800 activities which resulted in almost 9 million calories burned.
Along with monitoring burned calories, the AllSport GPS app allows users to chose their workout route. While on their chosen route, users are constantly updated with their current location. Additionally, this app lets users view 20 different stats including time, speed and distance.
When finished with a workout, AllSport GPS gathers the fitness results. On the AllSport GPS website, allsportgps.com, a chart outlining weekly workouts allows users to compare stats and follow their progression. Incorporating the popularity of social networks, the mobile app also lets users share their workouts on Facebook.
