Motorcycle season is officially upon us. With the warm weather on the way, today's Friday Feature focuses on Martin and what he deems "arguably the best motorcycle GPS on the market," the Garmin Zumo 550. Since the Kawasaki motorcycle he bought did not use kilometers or include a fuel gauge, Martin needed a GPS that would provide the missing information. Martin, who is from Toronto, explains, "I bought my motorcycle from the States so the odometer was in miles per hour instead of kilometers per hour and there was no fuel gauge on my bike. Luckily, my GPS had so many great features. It tells me my speed in kilometers per hour and it's so clear and big. Also, it has a fuel gauge built in so I know when it is time to fill up. As soon as I am low on gas, I get a warning on screen and with the touch of one button, I have a list of the nearest gas stations. This saved me from running out of gas on the highway a number of times, which bikers know, is never a good place to be hanging out." The Garmin Zumo 550, which Martin mentions above, was designed specifically for motorcycles. With a touchscreen that is glove-friendly and sunlight-readable, the Zumo 550 is durable, waterproof and ready for the open road. Preloaded with City Navigator street maps and points of interest (POIs), this GPS unit is ready right out of the box. Lasting up to three hours, the rechargeable battery makes the Zumo 550 versatile, allowing users to take the GPS with them on foot. Martin's final word on his Garmin Zumo 550? "Get one!"
