 Today, Garmin was named the official marine supplier for the 34th America's Cup. Garmin, a top manufacturer of GPS units, will be the exclusive supplier of marine navigation, marine communication and marine sensor equipment. The yacht race series will be begin with next month's race in Portugal and end in September 2013 with the America's Cup Finals in San Francisco. Garmin will provide their top of the line marine products and technology for the support boats. Along with the America's Cup Event Authority, Garmin developed new software specifically for the upcoming races. The software aims to provide "the most responsive management of the fleet of mark and marshal boats than ever possible before."
