The Geocaching iPhone Application, created by Groundspeak, allows geocachers to locate and log caches directly on their phone. Available through iTunes, version 4.5 was released last week.
The geocaching app improves upon previous versions by adding an advanced search feature. The advanced search lets users narrow down caches based upon location, keywords, difficulty level and terrain rating. Once a cache is found, users can then exclude that cache from search results so only new caches are listed.
The new version also simplifies geocaching outings with friends and family. The app lets users filter out caches already found by any group members. Then, users can create various lists to save and organize the chosen caches. Once a cache is added and saved to the list, users can access the list and cache information at all times, even outside their coverage area.
The Geocaching iPhone Application version 4.5 also benefits Geocaching.com's Premium Members. As a Premium Members, users can filter search results for a list of only Premium Member caches. |
