Over the past few years, ANT+ technology has become more popular among fitness enthusiasts. ANT+ lets users collect, transfer and track sensor data for monitoring personal wellness information.
Digifit, a fitness company, incorporates ANT+ technology into the majority of its devices. Used primarily with Apple iPods, iPhones and iPads, Digifit apps offer multi-sport features and functionality with a focus on heart rate training. The three main apps - the Digifit, the iRunner and the iBiker - are used to map users' outdoor runs and rides. When upgraded and paired with the Digifit Connect appcessory, users have the added benefit of monitoring their indoor progress. With the upgrade, users also can monitor heart rate, strides, cadence, RPM and power. Additionally, the Digifit Connect appcessory can communicate with the wide range of ANT+ compatible products like heart rate monitors, cadence sensors and foot pods.
For interested users, there is a free basic app available for download at the Apple App store with the option of upgrading to a more advanced, paid app.
