Garmin has a new automated system for updating the maps on your GPS. To use, a Garmin GPS with nuMaps Lifetime subscription is required. Once installed, the application continually looks for any available map updates compatible with your GPS. When updates are available, the Updater will automatically download the files to your computer and alert you about the new mapping ready to be installed. The Garmin Lifetime Updater does not require a web browser or sign-in. Using the advanced options feature, you can choose the download speed and download schedule. The process of updating maps has been simplified into three easy steps. First, you download and install the Updater on your computer. Second, enter and save your GPS devices in the Updater; each device will need to be entered and saved separately. Third, the Lifetime Updater downloads new map updates for you and all you have to do is install the maps at your choosing. Additionally, you no longer need to keep your GPS plugged in for hours.
