The Groundspeak Geocaching Block Party will be held this Saturday August 20, 2011 on the inaugural International Geocaching Day. Groundspeak has established that every year the third Saturday of August will be recognized as International Geocaching Day. The event is expected to attract a group of 700 or more geocachers. All attendees will have the opportunity to earn a special icon.

Signal the Frog
The official Groundspeak mascot will be making three appearances at the Block Party from 11:30 to 12:00, 1:00-1:30 and 2:15-2:45. Groundspeak describes Signal as representing "the combination of outdoors and location-based technology." If you want to get a picture with Signal, look for him during the designated times.
Dunk the Frog
Here's your chance to dunk Groundspeak members and reviewers in a tank of water! Below is a list of times and participants. Each person will only be in the dunk tank for 10 minutes so make sure you don't miss it!

All attendees of the Geocaching Block Party are invited to join the group photo. The photo is scheduled for 2:30pm in front of the Geocaching Adventures tent.
Groundspeak has organized meet-up groups throughout the day. If interested, stop in and introduce yourself to the other geocachers.
