 Mapnificent is an online tool that estimates the travel time for public transit in cities across the globe. The tool offers a user-friendly, easy to navigate website for transportation in cities throughout North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
To obtain transit information on Mapnificent, you choose a city and then drop a pin on a specific location within that city. Next, you expand the coverage map to include your current position and your intended destination. The slider bar at the bottom of the map provides an estimated travel time. Mapnificent also offers settings like biking, walking and the duration of transit rides. However, weekdays and weekends are separate as many transit options have altered routes during the weekends.
After using this website to search a few cities, it is interesting to see that some cities provide a larger coverage area when searching a specific time frame. For instance in Spokane, Washington, the coverage for a fifteen minute period was noticeably larger than the same time frame in Calgary, Alberta.
