A recent poll found 23% of United Kingdom drivers race against their GPS device. The poll asked participants, "Do you race to reach your destination before the GPS unit's ETA?" and nearly a quarter of drivers answered yes. However, the number may be on the conservative side with many drivers trying it at least once, if not multiple times. Furthermore, most GPS users have probably had the thought cross their minds at one time or another. The results of this poll show that nearly 3.6 million drivers admitted to exceeding the speed limit to beat out their GPS. Among the 3.6 million, 322,000 drivers have passed other vehicles in order to beat the expected arrival time and 241,000 have tailgated other drivers in hopes of increasing their speed to save time. The poll, conducted by ICM Research, asked about drivers' tendencies during the last twelve months. |
