Halloween conjures up different emotions for different age groups: indifference for the under-three crowd, excitement for those under twelve, anticipation of 'cool' costumes and parties for teenagers, and, as a parent, concern for the kids heading out at night.
While the little ghosts and goblins are running around the neighborhood, parents can quickly locate their children with the GTU 10 when it's past curfew. With safety being the utmost concern, the compact GPS tracking device will allow parents to always know the location of their children. Parents simply log in to the myGarmin site from a home computer or smartphone to monitor their trick-or-treaters. Additionally, if a next-door neighbor accuses a child of mischief, the parents can simply check the GPS coordinates and time stamps in the track log to prove their child's innocence.
Roughly the size of a mini-chocolate bar, the GPS locator has a rechargeable lithium battery with a week-long battery life. When Halloween is over, the GTU 10 is perfect for keeping tabs on children during their commute to and from school. Parents can place the device into a backpack or sew it into the lining of a jacket.
With the purchase of the GTU 10, Garmin is offering a free year of tracking service. After the first twelve months, users can choose between the Standard Tracking for USD$49.99 a year or the Deluxe Tracking option for USD$49.99 a month. The Standard Tracking allows users to locate the GTU 10's current location, while the Deluxe Tracking provides a track log history along with the device's current location. The tracking data is saved on the user's Garmin account for up to 7 days.
