TomTom recently launched a limited edition GPS based on the popular British television show, Top Gear. The TomTom GO LIVE Top Gear Edition GPS incorporates Top Gear-themed loading screens and car icons. Additionally, the GPS includes race track and raceway points of interest seen on the show. For users wanting spoken instructions, host Jeremy Clarkson provides driving directions mixed with his trademark sarcasm. If users prefer a silent drive, they can put the GPS in The Stig mode. The Stig is the anonymous, masked test driver seen in Top Gear episodes. Standard features of the GO LIVE Top Gear Edition GPS include a 5" screen, Bluetooth capability, preloaded points of interest, voice recognition, and lifetime map updates. With the purchase price of $269.95, users will receive a year subscription to TomTom LIVE services. Top Gear originally aired on BBC from 1977 to 2001 before relaunching in 2002. The television show has three hosts, Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. Clarkson is the only host who was a part of the original series. |
