For people wanting to keep tabs on their young children or beloved pets, Garmin offers the GTU 10 personal tracking device. Now better than ever, this discreet tracker has been updated to include some new features on both the Basic Service and Deluxe Service plans. These software enhancements increase the functionality of both the GTU 10 and the compatible Garmin Tracker mobile app. With the Basic Service Plan, users will notice quicker satellite acquisition with the addition of cell towers for triangulation. All GTU customers will also have access to the last 24 hours of data, where previously they could only access the last ten tracklog positions. Additionally, some of the service alerts have been upgraded, including custom battery notifications and the external power indicator. For the external power indicator, users will be alerted when the unit is no longer drawing power from an external source. As for the Deluxe Service Plan, the new features will include the Continuous Tracking option and Follow Me Invitations. Continuous Tracking allows the device to send automatic reports every 15 seconds for up to 5 hours. In addition, the Follow Me Invitations let device owners share their tracking sessions with friends and family. Business owners and parents of new drivers alike will appreciate the Scheduled Query and Speed Alert updates available through the Deluxe Service plan. Scheduled Queries allow users to set a specific time to have a location reported back, ideal for when vehicles are expected to return home. Speed alerts can be set so that if the device exceeds a predetermined speed, a notification will automatically be sent to the account.
