Garmin announced three new products this week to coincide with the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) being held in Las Vegas, NV. The CES, the largest consumer technology show in the world, is running from January 10-13.
With previous years setting the stage for big announcements of tablets and 3D televisions, Garmin and some of the big names in the GPS market, also use CES as the stage to unveil new products. This year, Garmin announced three new products to kick of the show and 2012 - the nuvi 3550LM, nuvi 3590LMT, and the Approach G6. The nuvi 3550LM and 3590LMT finish out the 2012 nuvi series that was first announced back in August while the Approach G6 takes the golf game to the next level.
While both new nuvis are packed with advanced mapping and navigation systems, the nuvi 3590LMT is the front runner when it comes to added features. The unit comes loaded with Garmin's Digital 3D Traffic, which allows you to receive updates as often as 30 seconds. The traffic updates let you know of upcoming traffic jams, detours, or car accidents along your route so you have more time to react. A new feature available on the nuvi 3590LMT is the photoLive traffic images. The traffic images are taken from live traffic cameras so you have a visual of the actual road ahead on your GPS.
The best feature of the Approach G6? The over 25,000 preloaded worldwide golf courses - no subscription required. You can travel to golf destinations around the world and be prepared to play. Even better, Garmin offers free worldwide course updates throughout the year for new courses and course changes. Want to switch up how you score your game? The Approach G6 lets you choose between four scoring options - Stroke Play, Stableford, Skins, and Match Play.
The nuvi 3550LM, nuvi 3590LMT, and Approach G6 are expected to start shipping next month. |
