When looking back through the years of Garmin vehicle navigators, starting with the original bulky Street Pilot models to the current thin and sleek nuvi models, it's incredible how the features have evolved. A great example of these evolving features is the Gamin nuvi 2012 line. The majority of Garmin's 2012 nuvi models come with either Guidance 2.0 or Guidance 3.0. What is the difference between the two new navigation modes? Use the chart below to compare the features.
The InstaSearch feature is nicely streamlined, allowing users to quickly search for a Point of Interest (POI) by name. With this search menu, addresses can be typed out in one step, instead of going through the multistep 'Where To' menu. Some of these new functions are not available in all areas, such as the Birdseye Junction View, 3D Terrain, and 3D Buildings. However, these features are available in most urban centers across the US and will be updated continually. Due to the constant changes, a complete coverage listing is not available. |
