Apple and Android devices will now have a superior GPS option when the all-new Garmin GLO is released in August 2012. This Bluetooth enabled receiver acquires data from both the GPS and GLONASS
satellite constellations, which is a total of 48 possible satellites.
The additional signals will ensure accuracy and reduce the time it takes
to lock on to a position. The GLO will keeps up to even the
busiest life, with lithium-ion battery that gets up to 12 hours on a
single charge. The position update rate of 10 times per second (varies
depending on the host device) ensures that the location will be found
quickly and with excellent accuracy. Travel accessories will
include AC chargers for North America and Europe, a friction dash mount
and belt clip. At a mere 10.9 oz and 5.3"x5.3" the GLO is compact and
portable all on it's own. |
