This video depicts the differences between two of Garmin's 5" screen models. Garmin's nuvi 3590LMT is a high-end GPS offering many extra features over the basic nuvi 50. The screen type and resolution are two very noticeable differences between these models. The nuvi 3590LMT has a glass capacitive screen which is finger-touch sensitive and offers a better response than it's resistive counterpart. The nuvi 50's plastic capacitive screen is pressure activated, beneficial if the user is wearing gloves. Searching is easier and faster on the nuvi 3590LMT as it has the QuickSearch menu in the Where To section. Instead of going through a variety of menu options to find addresses, POIs and other locations (like on the nuvi 50) users can simply type in a restaurant name or address in the QuickSearch bar. While these units have the same screen dimensions the nuvi 3590LMT is much slimmer than the nuvi 50. One last feature variance is the dual-orientation option on the nuvi 3590LMT, this allows the user to use the unit in either portrait or landscape. The nuvi 50 only supports a horizontal landscape view.
