We're not sure why criminals keep trying to steal things, don't they know GPS are everywhere?! Tracking devices are so small now that they can be placed in something as small as a pill bottle. That's exactly how a pair of theives were caught in Philadelphia, PA. After a rash of pharmacy break-ins in the area, one Rite Aid location decided to add a GPS tracking device to their inventory on the off chance that they were the next target. Low and behold they were, and with the data received from the GPS transmitter police were able to follow the getaway vehicle. Once they arrived at the safe-house authorities were able to apprehend the two suspects along with the stolen pharmaceuticals and a pair of handguns. This is only one example proving the effectiveness of GPS tracking devices. Other common uses include monitoring vehicles, elderly patients, small children and animals. Many portable electronics now come with GPS receivers built-in, which can be used with tracking software like the 'Find My iPhone' App for Apple phones, music players and tablets. GPS are saving lives and prized possesions, and if it deters would-be thieves from making a bad decision, even better!
