Trimble recently announced the release of a smartphone app to work hand-in-hand with their Terrain Navigator Pro software. The mobile app has been designed to help workers in law enforcement, construction and others to capture data in the field and transfer directly back to the desktop software. The app activates the GPS installed in your smartphone, and can work in areas that have no signals. After collecting site data, the Wi-Fi or data connection will seamlessly transfer the data in real-time to the office. The progression in this new technology is aimed to make decision-making more efficient with an overall reduction in production time. The mobile app is available for both Android and iPhone users, and is completely free with the purchase of the Terrain Navigator Pro office software. The software will run about $299 and can be purchased at www.mytopo.com/tnp. When visiting the site, it says, "coming soon". There is no date listed for the actual release of the app, but you can enter your email address for them to notify you when they have more information. |
