In an attempt at promoting their new holiday game, where people can play to win a variety of TomTom products or trips around the world, TomTom has released a cheaply produced viral parody video. Web-surfers can click on the link in the video description, or can go straight to the TomTom website to register to play. To begin, players will need to choose a continent, each one has a different grand prize trip associated with it. The prize areas are wrapped up in holiday paper, so to be eligible to win that prize the player must unwrap it. Once the deisred trip has been selected, players will earn coins, these are used to purchase tools to help cut the wrapping; like a pair of scissors. To promote this contest TomTom created a spoof video based on other real videos that had gone viral. The text at the beginning of the video apologizes for the poor quality, they claim they spent the advertising budget on all the great prizes available. While it's a bit of a cheesy way to gain publicity, the video has already received over 170,000 views in just 3 days. Good luck and happy unwrapping!
