Before performing a reset, back up all user data if possible.
Here is a list of some of the problems the Reset may fix.
GPS will not track satellites.
GPS will not communicate with my Windows Computer.
GPS will not communicate with my Mac Computer.
GPS no longer takes the routes I want (could be a setting).
Volume will not change.
Can no longer see my street maps.
Can't find the pesky setting that was changed.

Ecoroute HD is not connecting.
My Bluetooth in the GPS will no longer connect to my phone.
After completing the reset, doing a firmware update will also help the function of your GPS unit. Updating your firmware is easy and can be done using the free download from Garmin, WebUpdater.
