Greater than 17,000. That's the number of US lakes covered on Garmin's newest marine software, LakeVu HD and LakeVu HD Ultra.
Expected just in time for Summer, these new charts will arrive during the 2nd quarter of 2013. Over 400 of the approximately 17,000 bodies of water on these new maps will offer HD detail, which includes contour lines in 1' increments, at all depths.
Water levels often fluctuate based on recent rainfall, Garmin anticipated this and incorporated Dynamic Lake Level into the LakeVu HD Ultra software. This will allow fishermen to adjust the levels in their body of water depending on the surplus or lack of precipitation.
Find local roadways, bridges, POIs and serviced with the extensive database loaded on either version of the new lakes maps. Avoid hazards and keep up with the latest navigation info for hassle-free trips when flying solo or traveling with the family.
Two of Garmin's popular features; MarinerEye and FishEye, were kept on as they offer valuable insight both above and below the water. Users can find the LakeVu HD maps preloaded on a variety of Garmin units, including the echoMAP 50s/70s and GPSMAP 547/547xs, 741/741xs chartplotters. The LakeVu HD Ultra maps are the most up-to-date charts so far and can be purchased for use with those preloaded units, as well as the 8000 Glass Helm series. |
