 Vent mounts. Love 'em or hate 'em, they're still one of the most popular style of mount, next to the suction cup. The original design for most vent mounts was definitely lacking, as the two-pronged clip would often snap due to the plastic weakening from overuse and hot and cold air blasts alternating from the vent.
Garmin has taken the undesirable features from previous styles into account, and have designed their own vent mount. Instead of the alligator-clip type of prongs, they have two padded fingers that open and close using a wheel. The padded fingers lay between the vent openings, and when the wheel is turned clockwise they securely close around the vent slat. To remove the mount simply turn the wheel the opposite way.
This new addition to the nuvi mounts will be well received. Depending on customer feedback the vent mount may find itself as the standard mount with new nuvi models! |
