 Skybase Geomatics have some incredibly detailed mapping for a variety of applications. Their BushMap software covers the AB and Northern BC backcountry, AgMap is comprised of surveyed farmland across the Prairies, and PatchMap which details the BC/AB/SK oilfield roads, lease locations and oil field wells.
PatchMap is arguably their most popular map add-on, as it is widely used, by both oil workers and utility company employees, for finding lease locations and roads. The detailed mapping comes as a DVD or preloaded SD card, and is compatible with all of Garmin's current handheld units, and vehicle models not ending in a '5' or '7'.
Some exclusive features of PatchMap are: cancelled as well as current locations in BC, kilometer posts, radio frequencies, and separate winter and all-weather access roads. The search function allows uses to find by Operator Name or the type of Facility (wellsite, compressorsite, plantsite).
While the price is a bit higher than other Oilfield software on the market, the differences are quite prevalent. If the user does not need the extra services offered and is strictly looking for Legal Land Descriptions or LSD locations the Rocanda Western Canada gridmap may be a better option.
