inReach works in all the places where cell phones and one-way satellite beacons fail
Only 10% of the Earth has cellular or terrestrial phone service. One-way satellite systems have big coverage gaps, and no ability to exchange information. With inReach you can send and receive vital info, or just a hello, from all over the world. Exclusive capabilities include:
- Two-way satellite messaging
- Pole-to-pole global coverage
- Message delivery confirmation
- Interactive SOS
- Multiple inReach users can communicate directly with one other to share information and locations
The inReach also enables remote tracking.
Flexible inReach Solutions
Use the inReach by itself to send pre-loaded text message and pushbutton SOS alerts. Or, pair it with a Android smartphone for two-way texting and interactive SOS.
Messaging Options
- Type up to 160 characters
- Send to and receive from email addresses and cell phones
- Post messages to Facebook and Twitter
- Message recipients need not be in the inReach address book
Get Help if You Need It
Press the SOS button and your alert will be relayed to emergency responders, along with your position. Or, use your Android to send an SOS message describing your situation so that responders can be properly prepared.
Message delivery is confirmed for all SOS messages - pushbutton or text. SOS messages can also be cancelled in either mode.
Android Users
- Connect via Bluetooth
- Free app enables no-charge downloads of DeLorme Topo North America terrain and road maps
- Topo North America downloads are also free for Android users
Remote Tracking
Anyone you designate can follow your travels via DeLorme Topo North America maps displayed online. The tracking intervals are inReach user-controlled, and can range from ten minuntes to four hours. Remote tracking is automatically triggered by SOS messages.
Onboard GPS
The inReach has a high-sensitivity chipset to pinpoint your position in any messages you send, and for remote tracking. Accuracy is to within 10', and signal lock has been successfully tested under heavy cover.
