ANTENNA
Works well extends range considerable only gripe is that it is easily broken would be good if came with rigid case but we have made one from down piping with caps on the end. Has helped us find the dogs a number of times already.

ANTENNA
Antenna works well and added sufficient range to my Astro for what i use it for. Shipping was fast with product at my door the next day after ordering. Only issue I found in using the antenna is that it carried well in the dismantled position but was awkward with the handle attached due to the added length. I'm not sure what benefit the clip adds as in walking through juniper ridges and cedar swamps the last place you want the antenna is hanging from your belt.

220ANTENNA
Could be priced better but shipping was fairly quick. These antennas improve the astro range considerably and I wouldnt be caught without one. I snapped my antenna off about 12" from the end but unfortunately you cant buy just the antenna :( They need to address this as there is no point in paying for the connector, handle and clip if you don't need it. Garmin needs to listen to the consumer if they want to stay competitive with the new Marshall GPS hound unit coming out this fall.

GOOD PRODUCT
Cons: don't like the two part feature
Hunt in Eastern NC and it's thick. We have tracked coonhounds up to 1.4 miles. You will loose signal at times but not long enough to loose a hound. It is used w/ Astro 220 and the 30 style collar.

ASTRO LONG RANGE ANTENNA
A bit bigger in real life than you see in the picture, not for having in a pocket, more to have in the backpack. But improves the distance for the communication between the devices. could be improved in design, as the device is splitted into two parts when not used (to minimise space),

POOR DESIGN
Pros: does a decent job of improving reception. Cons: very poor construction.
The antenna works well however the construction is less than stellar. First time out in my pack and the metal antenna part broke off right above the handle. I was able to rig it to get it to work however if you are going to be out and hiking around with this unit then build something rigid to protect the bottom section from bending/breaking. I had a friend who had the same problem.
