This base will convert the Garmin Suction Cup and Swivel Mounts into an Auto Mount.
The package includes auto mount converter bases. One is to convert the Garmin Suction Cup Mounts or the Garmin Swivel Mounts to an Auto Mount, and the other is to convert the 176MAP series Swivel Mount (included with the purchase of a 176MAP GPS unit) to a Auto Mount.
MOUNTING ADHESIVES:
Included with the mount are one permanent and one temporary adhesive mounting disks.
The permanent disk will attach your mount, and attach it well to any flat, clean surface. Don't expect to remove the mount in a hurry. If this isn't your style, try the temporary disk. Stick the mount where you need it and then remove it when you're done.
The temporary disks don't keep their 'stick' forever, so you may want to invest in some extras, or save some money with the three pack.
WHEN WOULD I PURCHASE THIS MOUNT?
This mount allows you to have two (2) different types of mounts without paying full price. The two different bases utilize the same mount upper bracket and cradle.
So if you have two different vehicles to mount your GPS to then this base with the unit suction or swivel mount might be your answer.
