City Navigator Australia v6 contains premium detailed maps for all of Australia, including motorways, regional arterials and local roads with attributes such as turn restrictions, one way streets and other navigation features.
Unlocking Your Coverage
Before you can download map detail to a data card or directly to your compatible Garmin GPS, you must ''unlock'' the CD-ROM. A certificate included with this software allows you to “unlock” the entire CD. Simply follow the instructions on the included certificate. Internet access is required for the unlock process. Next, download data to a data card or to your compatible Garmin unit.
When using a locked MapSource product, the real-time track plotting function of MapSource will work only with GPS products that have valid unlock codes that work with City Navigator.

CD-ROM AND UNLOCK INFORMATION:
Q: WHAT IS THE CD-ROM UNLOCK CODE, AND WHY DO I NEED IT?
A: The 25 digit unlock code for the City Navigator CD-ROM is an authorization code which 'links' your GPS unit to the CD-ROM software for downloading mapping data from your PC. Without the unlock code, the CD-ROM data cannot be viewed on a PC or downloaded to a GPS unit.
The 25 digit unlock code is either included with the CD-ROM when purchased or you need to obtain it from Garmin's web site using the eight (8) digit coupon code included.
Q: HOW DO I UNLOCK THE CD-ROM WITH THE 8 DIGIT COUPON CODE?
A: You will first need select the language you require the unlock process to be displayed from the 'MapSource Unlock' page.
If you software came with ONLY the eight (8) digit coupon code you will need to enter the number into the unlock screen on Garmin's web site and follow these easy steps.
· Select the correct unlock option for your purchased CD (a single region or all regions)
· Enter the product number of your GPS unit (usually found on the back, or in the battery compartment, of your GPS unit)
· Select the single region you want unlocked (no necessary if unlock all regions)
· Confirm the map region
· Enter you personal information
· Receive your 25 digit unlock code.
Note: For additional instructions for completing these steps, follow along with your MapSource Unlock Quick Reference instruction sheet (which is included with your CD).
Q: HOW DO I UNLOCK THE CD-ROM WITH THE 25 DIGIT UNLOCK CODE?
A: To unlock the CD-ROM, once you have obtained the 25 digit unlock code (from Garmin's web site or included with the CD-ROM purchase) simply install the MapSource program on your Windows computer, open the 'unlock codes' window by pressing Ctrl + U and then enter the 25 digit unlock code. You are now ready to download mapping data to the Garmin GPS unit registered with the 25 digit unlock code.
Q: CAN I UNLOCK THE CD FOR MORE THAN ONE GPS UNIT?
A: If you own more than one (1) GARMIN GPS units, you are allowed to obtain a second unlock code for the same region, previously unlocked, at no additional charge.
You will need to enter the unlock page by selecting a language from the 'MapSource Unlock' page.
Now you will need to enter your 8 digit coupon code, that shipped with you CD-ROM, in the 'Returning Customer' field. You will be required to confirm/enter some personal information and the serial number of your second Garmin GPS unit you wish register. You will then receive a 25 digit unlock code which will need to be entered into your MapSource program in the same method as your first unlock code. Now you can download the MapSource data to your second Garmin GPS unit.
If you would like to obtain additional regions or utilize more than two GARMIN GPS units, you will need to purchase another code for each unit.
Please note: The original MapSource coupon code is your customer code. You will need to retain your MapSource coupon code and unlock code. For safekeeping, we suggest you write it on your certificate in the designated area. The original coupon code will be required for any region that you select, and this code will allow GARMIN Customer Support to assist you in case of unit difficulty. The unlock code must be entered into MapSource in order for the region of your choice to appear. If, for any reason, your PC fails or you purchase a new computer, you will be required to re-enter this unlock code into MapSource.
SOFTWARE MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
Pentium processor with Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, or Windows XP, Windows ME; 32MB RAM minimum; between 300 MB and 1.5GB free hard disk space; CD-ROM drive; available serial port; 256 color display adapter and monitor (24 bit recommended); and mouse or other pointing device; PC Interface cable. Internet access is also recommended to make use of the unlock process.
