I am using my etrex for Geocaching. I've found that this model just, "keeps on trying". In the open terrain, it's usually withing 2-3 feet of my intended "goto". In the forest/bush, it may become somewhat confused; nonetheless, when the "goto" is refreshed, it very often hangs on to the signal and gets you pretty close to your target.
