Garmin eTrex Vista Tips PRE-LOADED GARMIN MARINE NAVIGATIONAL AIDS:
Included with the Garmin eTrex Vista is a the pre-loaded Marine navigational aids (Americas Marine Points of Interest). The data is loaded into the units 24MB of internal memory, and is not part of the basemap. If Garmin MapSource Mapping Software is loaded into the Garmin eTrex Vista, the preloaded Marine POI database will be erased.
To recover this pre-loaded Marine POI data, the Map Database file can be downloaded from GARMIN's web site at www.garmin.com.
Note: Garmin MapSource Mapping Software and the Marine POI database cannot be loaded at the same time.
SOFTWARE UPGRADES FROM GARMIN: • Increase Waypoint/Tracklog Storage:
Upgrade 3.10, and above, for the eTrex Vista now includes an increased active track log to 10,000 points, an increased saved track log to 750 points, an increased user waypoints to 1,000 waypoints and an increased waypoints per route to 125 waypoints. Click here for unit software upgrade.
• Jump Master Program:
Upgrade 2.41, and above, for the eTrex Vista now includes JumpMaster. This accessory follows military guidelines for calculating a jumpmaster's high altitude release point (HARP). The accessory can auto-detect when a user has jumped to begin navigating him toward the desired impact point (DIP) using the barometer and electronic compass. • Glide Ratio:

• Area Calculation:
