DISAPPOINTED
I expected better results by using this external mic, attached to my car's sun visor. The sound is barely better than the internal mic on my nuvi. Very disappointed.

EXTERNAL MICROPHONE
I bought it to use on my motorcycle. It works with my Zumo 550 but whoever I am talking to has a hard time hearing, even when it's under my helmet. It also depends on where it's at in my helmet and how much wind noise there is. I wish it worked as good and my helmet comm microphone works. It does work fine in a car.

this is a total waste of money, this just goes to show Harley Davidson with there 3rd century radio electronics pared with a 3rd century gps system that does not intregrate at all

NOT A VERY GOOD MIC FOR THE BIKE.
Pros: none
Cons: can't be used in a noisy environment.
I bought this microphone to go with my Zumo 665 a motorcycle GPS. I put it inside my full face helmet. No one can here me over the motorcycle noise. Garmin should produce a microphone that can be used on a motorcycle. I fly helicopters. That microphone works over all the helicopter noise. Why can't there be a microphone for my motorcycle?

WORKS PERFECTLY!

Using a lapel type clip that came with the microphone, I hooked it on my t-shirt pocket and my wife said it sounded a 100% better than the intertnal mike! Thank you very much! Exactly what I needed!

IMPROVED VOICE QUALITY
Pros: improves voice quality for hands free phone
Easy to install and use. Wire easily hidden beneath car's interior liner. Plugs into base of GPS holder. This improved the voice quality over the internal speaker.

TRIED IT FOR A MOTORCYCLE
Pros: packaged well, good quality materials
Cons: not useful on my motorcycle
I purchased the michrophone in hopes that it would work on my Harley Ultra Classic. I have an intercom system, with Zumo 660 GPS connected to my phone through blue tooth. I thought the Garmin M/phone would help me speak through the GPS while using the phone. I put the Garmin M/phone RIGHT next to my Harley M/phone, but people could not hear me speak. I guess the back ground noise was just too much.

A MUST HAVE
After getting the external microphone and clipping it to my Sun Visor, everyone who I call has said the audio is excellent. Some cannot even tell that I'm driving. Clarity is excellent along with volume.

worked instantly. Great product but feel it should come with the Garmin when purchased. With the new laws in Ontario Canada we have no choice now but to use handfree devices in our vehicles. An internal mic would solve that problem

GARMIN EXTERNAL MICROPHONE
Pros: cheap
Cons: doesnt offer consistently clear speach pickup
I thought this would resolve the issue of my callers being unable to hear me with the built in Microphone on my Garmin nuvi 785 whilst using a bluetooth connection to my blackberry. Everything had been fine when using my old nuvi 680. Alas the microphone improves things only marginally despite positioning it as near to my mouth as possible

If you want improved sound quality, this external microphone delivers. I tested the mic before permamant installing it by placing it in multiple locations and speaking to a caller while driving. When I found the best location, I installed the wire. The installation looks professional and the mic works great. NOTE: Some locations didn't perform any better than the internal mic on my Garmin 765T so make sure you test your locations to avoid disappointment.

GARMIN EXTERNAL MICROPHONE
with this new ban to use cellphones while driving I tried to use bluetooth on my NUVI 760. but people on the other side could hardly hear me. after googling the issue, I found that the external mike should solve the problem. bought it from GPScity for price that was cheaper than the one on Garmin site. had some issues with delivery (on Canada post site the item apeeared as delivered, although I have not received it). I've contacted GSPCity customer service and was very pleased about their fast responses and willingness to help. Long story short, after getting the mike I've plugged it in and now I can talk using my NUVI bluetooth without even raising my voice. Thanks GPS City!

EXTERNAL MICROPHONE FROM GARMIN FOR NUVI 760
After reading multiple reviews regarding feedback when phoning using the 760, it was recommended this external microphone would solve that issue. Unfortunately this is not the case. I tried phoning friends while on the road and while I could hear clearly on my end, on their end there was distortion and feedback and echoing. Maybe someone has solved this problem?

CONVERSATION KILLER
Although with good intentions, this mic does not cut out background noise nor echo from the internal mic or from speakers (I have a Nuvi 660). It is helpful to have for hands-free, but painful for the person on the other end.
