GOOD FOR GUYS OR GIRLS WITH BIG WRISTS.
Pros: great watch Cons: girls - watch out!
Setup was easy and the watch was great until my wife put it on. It was way too big and there was no way to make it smaller. Where the watch itself connects to the band is solid and won't bend so there was no way to tighten it enough, even with the padded wrist inserts they provide, which shows that they're aware of the size of this thing.

GOOD FITNESS GPS WATCH
Pros: looks like a watch, customizable, great price Cons: touch sensitive bezel
Just bought the 405CX GPS watch with heart rate monitor. I wanted to stay with Garmin since I already use the 705 (love this unit which I also bought from GPS City) for my road bike. I needed something more versatile (i.e. wear on my wrist) for running and cross country skiing. Product works as advertised. The bezel is a little sensitive as many reviewers have already commented but it's not an issue if you simply lock the bezel when working out. When I purchased the GPS watch, it was at a much reduced price and on back order. GPS City came through and sent me the product less than a week later at the advertised lower price. Excellent service.

GOOD GPS WITH SOME QUALIFICATIONS
Pros: good watch and heart rate monitor Cons: the usb ant connection is fussy and doesn't always
I purchased the Forerunner 405CX with a heart rate monitor. It seems to work very well when it is functioning properly but it is a little bit fussy. I ride a bike. If you are not careful when you start your ride the GPS doesn't activate. The ant stick works but I get an error message about some connection problem and the data doesn't always tranfer properly.

SUPER AWESOME GPS WATCH
Pros: gps, garmin connect website
I bought this watch 2 years ago and use it for cardio training, walking and hiking and it's been amazing. Battery life is good, the Garmin Connect Website is really easy to use and has a lot of good features. Garmin keeps updating the firmware for the watch, which makes me a happy customer.
The touch bezel works good and if you don't like the sensitivity of it you can change it or turn off the bevel, so you don't press any buttons you don't want to.
The wireless transfer of data is awesome because it's one less cable you need to have and the range is actually really good and transfers fast to the Garmin Website.
My Dad starting hiking and for his birthday I bought him this watch and he likes it a lot as well.

GREAT
Pros: design, great size, easy to navigate Cons: can not see the course on the watch screen
I upgraded from my previous 205 to get heart rating. I appreciate many aspects mostly its size, configuration and navigation is easy. It automatically update to Garmin connect and provide me with great information, I can now manage my hart rate and better improve my training for Marathon.
However, (If I am wrong, please let me know) I does not seems to have a screen that mark the run where you can see your way and way home (yes on internet you can see it on googlemap and its great) but since I am losing myself when running in new path, I like to see the way back and not just the arrow pointing the way around. I lost this option that I was using on my 205. Otherwise, it is great Garmin product. .

GREAT GPS
Pros: does everything i want very well, lots of features Cons: possibly the strap, but very minor
Touch Bezel takes getting used to, but easy to use in a short time. Heart Rate monitor works well, using it with cycling speed / cadence monitor which works well. I really like Garmin Connect and the ease of uploading training data. I especially like the ability to map the route I was on. I have used this in deep woods cover and not lost the GPS signal. The only complaint might be the strap, it is very secure, but takes a little effort to get on and off.

EXCELLENT WATCH
Pros: excellent in almost every respect Cons: bezel is not as responsive when wet
I went from using an old Timex that couldn't even store laps to the Garmin 450cx and I was completely blown away. I've been using it for about four months now as I train for a marathon, and it's been great. I find that being able to monitor my pace is the most useful feature for me, but keeping track of distance is a close second. I love being able to look at my mile splits after my run and I can easily compare how I'm doing to earlier runs. It's great being able to track heart rate, too. I like Garmin website and it's very handy to be able to upload all the data from your runs automatically. The watch is also very good for intervals, as you can customize it for just about any workout you can come up with. This watch is so packed with features that it will keep you busy if that's what you want, or you can keep it simple too. It's true that when the watch gets really wet that it sometimes does not respond as well when you touch the bezel, but it's never been a problem. And it is not always 100% accurate when measuring distance, but when it's off, it's not by much, and I think part of the problem is running in a city full of tall buildings that can block satellite reception. Similarly, it takes me a while to get a satellite connection at the start of my runs, but it's only because of all those tall buildings, so I can't really complain about that either. All in all, very impressive technology and an excellent training tool.

GARMIN 450CX
Cons: the watch face is very easily scratched.
I am very happy with my Garmin 405CX. As a Mac user, I was a bit concerned with the purchase, but found no problems with either set up or use. The guide book is sometimes hard to follow, but much better instruction is available on YouTube.

SIZE NOT THE BEST
The Garmin Forerunner maybe a good heart rate monitor with gps however I found the size of the watch itself is too big for people with smalll wrist. Even with the removable band.

EXCELLENT TRAINING TOOL
Pros: virtual partner, wireless connection to pc, Cons: hard rain wreaks havoc on the bezel if not locked.
Aside from the metrics it tracks, displays and reports on in Training Center (TC) or Garmin Connect, the virtual partner and the ability to set splits on time, distance and HR are all excellent features. Some values (e.g. speed) are a bit erratic when viewed in TC (or Garmin Connect) but overall the amount of error is insignificant compared to the value of having that data.
The virtual partner trumps everything else in my opinion as its easy to see if you are ahead or behind your desired pace and acts as a source of motivation when running alone.
I've never lost a GPS signal or lost HR measurements in any of the 22 runs I've used the watch on and I live in Central BC.
Last point, make sure all of your profile settings are correct in TC or else each time you synchronize data the setting on the 405 will be overwritten by the default ones stored in TC

GREAT TRAINING TOOL
Pros: small, light and does it all Cons: battery life
I'm a triathlete and this is by far the best training gadget I've ever used. Excellent for running and cycling, really like the virtual partner feature, it's a great motivator. The download feature is awesome too, wireless, easy to use, so is the watch. It did not take me too long to learn how to use it. Finally a watch that does it all and that is not too big! Get the HRM too, it's worth it. The only draw back is the battery life, it is rechargeable but does not last very long. I have to recharge it at least once a week or just before a long run or bike. That's minor really. Otherwise, it's a really good training tool.

FIRST RUNNING WATCH AND EVEN I CAN USE IT!
Pros: gps doesn't lose signal, even on trails Cons: bezel a little difficult w/ cold or sweaty fingers
I am technologically challenged, and was still able to figure this out quickly. It's a great tool for any runner. With the 405cx it is easy to navigate through screens while running, and looks great too. The ability to choose up tp 9 diff screen options (speed, dist, direction etc) makes it easy to customize the way it monitors the most important aspects of your performance.

BEST FRIEND WHEN RUNNING!
Pros: lightweight, easy to read, customizable screens Cons: menu system a little confusing at first
I love this watch! Having switched from the ipod/Nike system, it's very rewarding to finally see with great accuracy just how well/poor I'm doing. The heartrate monitor is an added bonus, and has helped me determine my "zone" for training in. Garmin's website is set up great, and the Mac software lets you program workouts specific to your needs. Very happy with the product!
