I wanted to share how I believe the Garmin Foretrex 101 is a best buy for geotagging Photos. Ever wonder where that photo was taken, now you can by using several programs out there to take your GPS track history and matching it up with the times your photos were taken. They become part of the photo's Exif data and can be easily be viewed at a later date to see where the camera's location was at the time the photo was taken, works with most digital camera's out there.

I set the GPS Track history to 6 second time intervals, this will give you over 17 hours of logging, make sure you clear or allow wrapping of the track log. I used GPS PhotoLinker for OS X to do the merging using a serial to USB adapter. There are other great programs out there for Windows; when downloading set the interface to Garmin Mode.

Using a $110 GPS that will double for Geocaching and great for using on the bicycle is better than those data loggers that cost just as much and you have to find a place to carry it while your out photographing. The Foretrex is handsfree and a great value. Hope you enjoy Geotagging your photo's!
