GARMIN FREE UPDATE CITY NAVIGATOR USA DVD NO CHAR
I am not happy at all, I thought with this free update I would had my GPS updated but now I am told that I have to contact Garmin to receive the unlock code and pay them. The disc you are receiving is just an install disc. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to ask. So, now I am not intereted to pay an additional $ 75.00 plus taxes to get an update on a GPS I am using ''Once in a While'' and for which I pay close to $400.00 to get it. I would appreciate that you update my CITY NAVIGATOR NORTH AMERICA V7 for free.

CITY NAVIGATOR FOR NON NT GARMINS
This is the last of the updates for the 2610 series, and I was happy to find it. They sell you the CD, then you load it up and connect to Garmin to buy the license (unlock) key. The CD was shipped incredibly fast, and loaded up with no issues. Purchasing the license key from Garmin was a snap!. Overall a really good experience.

DECENT UPDATE, BUT UPSET THAT THIS IS IT FOR MY IQ
Pros: quick delivery
Cons: $75 unlock fee from garmin
I needed to update the map on my iQue 3600, turns out, this is the last version available for it- there will be no more map updates for this $500 device that is only 4 years old. No, I am not pleased with that.
This map, although free from here, except for $11 shipping, will cost $75 USD to unlock and use, from garmin.com. I noticed that 2 new main roads in my area (Red Hill expressway in Hamilton), and some other road in Brampton that is a main street, oh, and the location of our new hospital, are not accurate. So back to my iQue, it will nevr show these locations or roads since this is the last update available. Sad huh?
The shipping from GPSCity was fast- 1 day was great.

Cons: should have told to pay extra to make it work
Did not work with my computer as I have to pay extra to decode even though I had previous version.

CITY NAVIGATOR UPDATE 2009
I ordered this update from gpscity.ca and although initially back ordered it did arrive when promised.
However it wouldn't work with Windows Vista, and since it was the last update for my GPS Unit I opted to move to a new GPS a Garmin Nuvi 700 series and found I was eligible for the 2010 update for that unit. In the end it all worked and I have a new Nuvi with current N.A. Mapping and 2009 Euro Mapping. What more can one wish for?

MAP UPDATE
Pros: none
Cons: company would not refund
I found out later from Garmin that this wasn't a map update, and wasn't compatible with what I needed. I need an update for 2009 for windows XP. Garmin told me what I bought would not work

Cons: weird routing at times.
Installed fine on my PC. Map is more up to date than the old one I used. Produces sometimes very strange routes, definitely longer than more straighforward ones.

You should sell this item with the key, rather than leaving people to think they can use this product in their units free. I had updated before and understood the process, but still don't care for the way it is done. Maps are not very current in some surprising areas such as Bowmanville ON

POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS POLICY
I have owned two 2720 units (1 for myself and 1 for my wife) for a number of years this is the first time I have been forced to pay to update my two units.

Makes my 5 year old GPS V updated to same as my Nuvi 250. Downloaded to my 2 laptops and desk top computer with no problems. New about the activation fee.

Cons: misleading to state the upgrade is free.
I didn't realize the DVD had to be activated by Garmin and a fee paid. When I discovered that after too many tries at downloading the maps I could not get the Garmin download to work for me. I still have not purchased the maps as I had to travel a few days after receiving the DVD and ran out of time trying to access the Garmin download.
[Ed. note: If you have any problems getting maps unlocked, it may be in your best interest to give Garmin a call @ 1-800-800-1020 and have them manually create the codes you need.]

Pros: better than a long download.
"Free" in case means that while the actual DVD is free, it requires a cost ($75 plus tax from Garmin) to get an update key. I knew this, it's not a problem. A download even with DSL would take a long time. So, getting a DVD was more convenient.
Shows new roads and POI's in my fast growing area.
Shipping was very fast - 2 days and the shipping cost was the best I found.

TEN BUCKS DOWN THE DRAIN
I rate this product as bad... However, I would have chosen "not relevant" but this radio button is not among the choices presented to me. I ordered this DVD but it is not compatible with my StreetPilot i3. So I can't really review it. The review title is "Ten bucks down the drain" as I paid 10$ for the shipping costs.
