With the addition of the GDL 30 (Weather Satellite Receiver) or GDL 30A (Weather and XM Audio Satellite Receiver) and a partnership with XM WX Satellite Weather, Garmin is proud to bring real-time graphical weather data coverage of the United States (except Alaska and Hawaii) directly to Garmin marine chartplotters.
For the first time, mariners can access real-time weather information for the United States directly on the GPSMAP 3010C and 3006C using the GDL 30 or GDL 30A - no need for a separate PC interface. The Garmin GDL 30 and GDL 30A black box receivers are completely waterproof and part of the new Garmin Marine Network, a plug-and-play system that puts GPS, weather, sonar, radar and other important data literally at a boater's fingertips.
United States weather information captured and processed by the GDL 30 and GDL 30A with the GA 31 pole-mount antenna is directly overlaid onto the GPSMAP 3010C and 3006C multifunction, color displays. Users can overlay individual or combined weather data screens, so they can see weather conditions at their current location or along a projected path. The GDL 30 and GSL 30A with the XM WX Satellite Weather service work to keep boaters continually informed of changing weather patterns, so they can make better-informed decisions and spend more time enjoying the water. |
